BDA Watersports, Sandys

Be your own captain & explore the cutest spots in the West End

If you’d love to get out on the water for a day, you’ll want to check out BDA Watersports for a range of fun adventures including stand-up paddleboard & crystal clear kayak rentals, jet ski tours, boat and pontoon boat rentals and more. Located in Somerset at Robertson’s Marina in Somerset, you can book your water adventure here. Upon arrival you will receive full instruction and a detailed map of the area along with expert guidance on where to go and what to do. We love visiting the HMS Vixen, one of Bermuda’s most famous shipwrecks. Here you can swim, snorkel and feed the fish! There are a number of really cute islands and small beaches where you can stop and enjoy lunch or a snack. They also have submersible scooters, and snorkel equipment available to rent and this is so much fun especially if you are traveling with kids.

Located in Pembroke Parish just outside the City of Hamilton the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute offers a range of interactive experiences for audiences of all ages. Check out the Ocean Discovery Centre’s exhibit Bermuda Triangle: Unlock the Secrets, the ultimate place to learn everything you ever wanted to know about the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle. There’s an exhibit called the World Renowned Private Shell Collection featuring over 1,200 unique shells from a privately owned collection. There’s even a Shipwreck Gallery that dives deep into the stories that have made Bermuda the shipwreck capital of the world.

The Railway Trail

Walk the Bermuda Railway Trail

Walk or bike this stunning scenic trail that follows the route of the former Bermuda Railway, which operated from 1931 to 1948. The railway was Bermuda’s only railway system and was primarily used for transporting passengers and freight across the island. After the railway was closed, the tracks were removed, and the right of-way was converted into an 18 mile trail for pedestrians, cyclists, and equestrians to enjoy. Tobacco Bay Beach, St. George's

Fall in love with Tobacco Bay

This stunning natural beach located just a 10 minute walk from St. George’s Square is an important historical site known for its involvement in the Gunpowder Plot of 1775. It’s a popular beach for snorkelers, families and evening bonfire beach goers. The limestone rock formations and shallow waters are a haven for parrot fish, sergeant majors, butterfly fish and blue wrasse. The enclosed lagoon provides a sheltered sandy cove for children. St. David's Lighthouse

Climb to the top of St. David’s Lighthouse

Completed in 1879, St. David’s Lighthouse was constructed of Bermuda stone and stands 55-feet from base to lantern. The lighthouse is located on the easternmost point of the island, enabling navigators to take cross bearings with the flashing beacon emitted by Gibb’s Hill Lighthouse (you can also climb this Lighthouse, located in the west end Today the St. David’s Lighthouse automatic light beam is electric, and it is overseen by the Bermuda Department of Parks, with outside viewing.  Bus route 6 operates from St. George’s to St. David’s. There is a bus stop at the bottom of Texas Road. From here walk up to Mount Road to reach the lighthouse.
