Bermuda has a varied selection of restaurants from which to choose and we invite you to sample some of the ethnic & local cuisines that are found here. As the island is surrounded by the blue water of the Atlantic, fish can be found on most menus all year long. From late September to early March the spiny lobster is in season and usually found on most menus.
Bermudian and Island cuisine is available at several restaurants where you can dine al fresco, elegant surroundings or very casually. Venture out and you will find some hidden gems that are off the beaten track. Bermudian specialties usually include fresh local fish cooked a number of different ways, fish chowder with Outerbridge’s sherry peppers & rum and … If you are looking to enjoy a meal that is something out of the ordinary then you can't go wrong with the spicy, well seasoned Jamaican or West Indian cuisines. Very popular among locals and visitors alike for their unusual blends of contrasting flavors, Jamaican and West Indian dishes will more than satisfy the most demanding taste buds.
European cuisine has dominated the Bermuda food experience. Italian and Mediterranean restaurants rank high on the list of the cuisine served in Bermuda, where there are probably more Italian eating places on a per capita basis than can be found in most destinations of similar size. The rich French-style with a superb bottle of wine is sure to satisfy. World class dining can be found at these establishments that offer local specialties refined by their chefs. The featured dish on most menus is fish, which chefs have managed to prepare with skill and imagination.
Southwestern (TexMex) and Latin flavours are also available and very different in style. The different South American spices change the the flavour of any food and the beverages are just as distinct dating back to the Native Americans. Although Mexican cuisine has many similarities to Latin cuisine, it is a type of regional cuisine originating in the in Mexico and moving into the southwestern United States. Mexican and Tex-Mex offerings include enchiladas and burritos, margaritas, beans and more!
If you’re looking forward to enjoying some really good Oriental food then you’ll be glad to know that Bermuda features several restaurants serving fantastic Asian Cuisine; including Japanese, Chinese and Thai. Bermudians insist on the best when dining out and Bermuda’s Sushi restaurants live up to those expectations. Sushi aficionados will tell you that Bermuda has some of the best found anywhere.
Most Indian cuisines are related by a similar usage of spices. Indian cooking is distinguished by the use of a larger variety of vegetables than many other well-known cuisines. Bermuda features several Indian restaurants for dining pleasure or take out.
Steak and Seafood are popular in Bermuda. For steak lovers Bermudian restaurants have a reputation of serving the best cuts of fresh and aged beef available for import. Although many restaurants feature great steak dishes - those listed below can be considered true Steakhouses. And because Bermuda is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, our local seafood is also highly rated. Local Red Snapper, Wahoo, Tuna and Lobster can be cooked in a variety of ways, and each one melts in your mouth.
Casual dress is acceptable at most restaurants, though some upscale eateries require a jacket and tie. And it’s best to make a reservation, especially in the summer high season. Our restaurants and bars are all non-smoking.

Bolero Brasserie
Bolero Brasserie is the latest fine dining experience in Hamilton, just off Front Street down Bermuda House Lane. The restaurant opened in April 2007 and is owned and operated by British Chef Jonny Roberts.
