Preparation- A lot to Consider

Gifts
A registered bride in Bermuda can choose from the fine china, silverware and glassware available in several establishments in the downtown area. Fine linens, home furnishings and interior decoration are also options. Shipping and handling costs and insurance costs vary. Shoppers are pleasantly surprised by the quality of establishments and products available on the island. Indeed, high fashion and specialty goods, all at reasonable prices, make shopping an experience in Bermuda.

Couples wishing to provide gifts for their guests have several unique options. For the gentlemen, Cuban cigars, vintage port or engraved silver flasks can be found in the area of the bird cage on Front Street. For the ladies, personalized jewelry in silver and glass, or artistic impressions of island life can be found in Dockyard.

Music

Bermuda offers any number of entertainers, muscians and DJ's. Chamber music or steel pans are often used before and during the ceremony. Once the party begins, the music shifts to a more up-beat rhythm to get people on the dance floor! Have a look at all the Bermuda Entertainers here.

Food
There is barely a world cuisine that is not catered for in Bermuda. Whether you're catering for hundreds or an intimate group of close friends, choose from local dishes like Bermuda lobster or Fish Chowder spiced with dark rum and sherry peppers, and the finest in Italian, French, Caribbean, Indian, Chinese, Thai or North American cuisine to the freshest sushi.

Wedding Cake
And don't forget the wedding cake. Your wedding planner can arrange traditional Bermuda wedding cakes - a pound cake covered in gold leaf, symbolizing wealth, for the groom and fruit cake wrapped in silver leaf, symbolizing purity, for the bride.

Flowers
Fresh flowers by the stem, beautifully arranged with designer accessories, or silk that last forever and look so real, you choose your best wedding bouquet, head piece or table flowers. With so many kinds and colours to choose from you can create a unique accent for your special day.

Transportation
There are several modes of transportation used in Bermuda to transport the wedding party from the ceremony to the reception - taxi, horse and carriage, a moped or bus. The horse and Bermuda carriage is a traditional way to arrive and leave from the ceremony. It is a wonderful way to travel to the reception and relax with your new spouse enjoying a bottle of champagne along the way! The Bermuda taxi is a luxurious way to travel with seating up to six per vehicle and air conditioning giving you a chance to cool off before the real party starts! If you are really daring, you may make a quick getaway on a scooter enjoying the wind in your face travelling along Bermuda’s roads. Or you can rent a bus so your entire wedding party and family can be involved in the first minutes of your new life together!
